Greenwich Associates tries to give an IB appeal, by providing training
on its proprietary software and then having luncheons and celebrations
on graduating (passing the test). Till then you feel you are working
for the best company in the financial services industry. However, very
soon you realize the work is not intellectually stimulating and you
will not be very marketable once you leave Greenwich Associates. One
plus is that most Greenwich Associates employees get into the best
grad schools. Greenwich Associates is also very well known in the
finanicial circle. ALso you do get to work with the consultants of
Greenwich Associates, themselves very seasoned
professionals.
Envrionment is Casual, except for high profile meetings and
presentations to MDs of leading banks.The work is routine and you have
to be very detailed oriented to succeed at Greenwich Associates. Hours
are seasonal and can range from 40hrs to 80 hrs a week.
Advancement is pretty set on time line, within 1 yr you become a Sr
Research Associate ( you would be pretty incompetent if you did not
become a Research Associate). In 2 to 3 years you could be come a team
leader depending on you performance.
Overall the people are friendly and there used to be group outings and
dinner parties with consultants - a fun time for a recent graduate. But
for someone who does not want to waste any time n his/her career -
forget Greenwich Associates
