Working at The Greenbrier Companies has been a great experience. When I
started, they were business formal - shirt, tie and sport jacket. 2
months later, they went to business casual. From the beginning I was
able to have flexible hours, making my communte easier by avoiding
traffic. The people are very diverse, with a mix of "blue collar",
mechanically minded people to professionally trained accountants and IT
personnel. I've had 2 offers for other employment since starting here,
and I quickly turned them down even though there was a higher potential
salary. The President and upper management has made this an extremely
stable company even through this long-lasting economic downturn and the
worst economy in the 50 States. I have also found the company to be
very generous when I'm required to travel for business. They do not
expect you to stay in low-rate hotels, nor eat at McDonalds every meal.
They have provided me in many way every opportunity to be successful in
my job.
