Legal Secretary Gray Cary was a fun, comfortable place to work. I started in 1985 when they were moving into their own space on Hamilton Avenue from University Avenue and Debbie Perilli was the Personnel Officer who hired me. They arranged all kinds of fun things for the firm, especially when summer associates came in. The firm gave us great bonuses and incentives to make more money. I would say that for you to enjoy you job depends on who your attorneys are. I left because the attorney I had worked for for ten years one day just flipped out on me. This was so out of character for him and I feel today that he must have had a lot of pressure on him. I think a lot of secretaries resented the fact that they had put in place a team leader program. After all, we are talking about professionals here. Why do we need team leaders. Anyway, I understand things have changed drastically since I left. No more fun at Gray Cary.
