The position and office in general is anything but compartmentalized. I
am responsible for anything and everything annual fund related. There
is
very little diversity here, not something I am use to, but something
expected of a small, private, east coast college. My supervisor is very
flexible with my hours, I am an exept employee and thus am not paid for
weekend work or when I go beyond 35 hours/week. Since I tend to work a
lot of weekends and late nights, I am often given a day off on Fridays
(which is not taken from my vacation time) or permission to come in
late
(11 am instead of 8:30 am). Unfortunately, turnover here is quite high,
thus although there is opportunity for advancement, this is not the
type
of envioroment that I would want to spend too many years in. The staff
members of this college are under-paid and under-appreciated, as a
whole.
