I have actually worked for my employer since 1974. I was hired as his
secretary in a nursing home and we now manage three nursing homes and I
oversee the HR functions in the three homes as well as continue as his
Administrative Assistant. Our employees are valued (Approx. 200 in
each facility). In a nursing home you have a very diverse population
of staff. We have three shifts and uniforms are worn on the floors. We
try to offer job opportunities from within whenever possible. An
example of this is that right now we have a position open for a Medical
Records Secretary and we are currently interviewing nursing assistants
that have expressed an interest.
People in nursing homes work very hard, and for the most part our staff
are pretty happy here.
