Global Insight is, at its core, an economic information and forecasting
company, so you are surrounded mainly by economists. Corporate culture
is very business like, not much fun going on, not much drama either.
Hours worked varies depending on what you are doing. Those in
forecasting usually put out a monthly forecast/publication and very busy
right before that is due, and are putting in 6 days that week and 60-70
hours. It's not that bad the rest of the time. Those who are consultants
have it steadier, it usually never gets too crazy but there is rarely
down time either.
Busines casual is the dress and benefits seem to be average, certainly
not market leading in any way but sufficient. Turnover has been low
recently but probably more a reflection of the market than job
satisfaction. Advancement opportunities are limited as the company isn't
growing at a fast rate.
