GevityHR is in the Professional Employment Organization (PEO) industry.
This industry is very small and says somewhere around 3% market
penetration. The company offers outsourced HR services with regards to
people management and administrative functions such as payroll,
benefits, workers compensation, etc.
The company has changed CEO and senior management a few times over the
years and changed its name around 1997. It is in the midst of a growth
period and appears to be a very young organization with many kinks to
work out in the future as it goes through growing pains. Right now, the
company has over 1000 employees spread between 12-15 locations, but the
largest number is located at its corporate headquarters in Florida.
Dress code is business casual daily, with most people wearing dress
pants and a collared shirt with or without a tie depending how high up
you are in the organization. On Fridays, employees are allowed to wear
jeans and comfortable close toe shoes and button down or polo shirt.
Women are allowed to wear the equivalent type of clothing. Diversity is
an issue the company is looking to make changes in. They are actively
recruiting minorities and women. The work hours are generally standard
40, with general paid time off which avoids designating leave as
sick/personal/vacation time.
The organization is looking for individuals to fill many gaps within the
organization. Currently some people are wearing the hats of 3 positions
and this is creating efficiency problems that would be solved with more
qualified individuals filling necessary positions. However, be aware
that there are not many young people in Bradenton, Florida, so if you
are looking for immediate entertainment, you may have to make at least a
20 minute drive to find a crowd in the range of 21-28.
