Job Title Business Outlook Survey
Production Planning Overall business outlook for this company is bleak if you are salaried. Downsizing is still heavy. Most of GM's growth is Asia, India and South America right now. If you are salaried there's a good chance 40% of the people you worked with 5 years ago are gone. Morale is low in my opinion for the salaried workforce. Cost-cutting is rampant and the hardest hit are the salaried. The UAW gets off relatively easy. Just about every opportunity to save money at this company comes at the expense of salaried workers including health care costs, 401K match, overtime, and retirement. I was gung ho when I started and proud to build and drive GM. I love the auto industry but unfortunately I will most likely try to find employment somewhere else where people still matter.
