| Associate Marketing Manager |
At the associate level, you will (most likely) have approximately three
1 year rotations - one on an established brand, one in channels
(WalMart, Club, etc.), and one in new product development. Each of
these varies based on operating division and priority - and all have
their developmental benefits. This makes the first three years exciting
and rewarding. This broad exposure to the company also lets you figure
out exactly what you want to focus on - however, the rotations between
types of assignments continue - with only a few exceptions.
Post-Pillsbury integration, the culture seems to be changing and based
on a recent climate survey, will continue to do so. Areas for
improvement are decision making and prioritization.
Hours vary. From August to Mar/April, most jobs seem to be 60+ hours
per week to accomodate our annual planning cycle. After Memorial Day,
Fridays are half-days - it's awesome!
Advancement is tough in this market.Hiring has slowed. However, there
are several senior
managers waiting for promotion to director and many senior associate
marketing managers waiting for promotion to manager. The current timing
closer to 4 years
