Strenghts:
1. Strong corporate cutlure to expand, having stretch targets. This
particularily true among the zales team. Six Sigma and Quality services
have been some ambitious goals that you rarely see in action given the
need to complete outages on time and lack of management interest in
personal requirements of employees within IFS, and hence the latter tend
to be less motivated to market the good image or quality service
orignally intended.
Weakness:
Less stagnent sales attitude of competitors put GE in a tight position
in Saudi, Nigeria and a other major markets for energy sector in the
Middle East.
Unclear Career path for the IFS Service teams, who consitute the core of
the GE Energy workforce.
Absence of open career talks and growth potential for entry Level and
Project Management teams with GE IFS
Products and Services:
Turbine and Power Plant auxiliaries including wind turbines,
Hydrauelectrics, Steam and Gas Turbines as well as transformers etc.
Services: Full Maintenance and installation services are available.
Replacement parts, upgrades, retrofits of other turbine brands, and
customer training.
Employee Morale
GE IFS, Tech advisors and PMs, due to lack of clear career paths and
absence of management incentives and open discussions, experienced TAs
are leaving the company or changing jobs. Personal Relationships affect
professional evaluation especailly at the experienced level.
