Left at $13/hr. They hired everyone at a higher scale than typical for the
area, but you had to fight for raises thereafter. I think my pay range was
supposed to be from $9 to $13 starting salary (in 2000). Some bonuses based upon
store sales performance. 20% employee discount, there used to be an extra 5%
discount if you completed all the training CD's (I don't know if they still do
that). Vacation time and voluntary insurance for full time hourly. Management
received sick time, vacation, better bonuses. Management salary for small stores
was much less than for the big stores. Some of the big store department managers
were making considerably more than our Store manager. Had I transferred, I would
have had half the work, three employees under me (doing what I did myself at my
store), and a few more dollars an hour.
