The firm's culture differs by office. The Philadelphia office's
culture is much like the other large Philadelphia law firms. The
Princeton office is more laid back and family oriented. However,
because the Philadelphia office makes the policy, there is just as much
pressure regarding meeting hours, realization, and other office
politics as there is at a large firm. I wouldn't call the Princeton
office diverse, although the Philadelphia office is more so. The dress
code is formal except for casual Friday's.
There are opportunities to make partner. An associate is put up for
partner in their 8th year and remains up for partner for three years.
For a lateral, an associate must be with the firm for five full years
before being up for partner. The criteria for partner is based on
technical abilities, fee generation, and involvement in the community.
The process is pretty political. If you have someone backing you that
yields a lot of power, then you should have no problem making partner.
