Fleet can be a very tough place for some to work because managers expect
you to do your job, and do it well. The corporate culture is definitely
one of meritocracy, which is to say, if you do your job and do it well,
you will be generously rewarded. Although there are some middle
managers who can make life hell (guess what, that's everywhere), the
majority of people are great, and will do anything in their power to
help you along the road to what you want to do. The firm is very
diverse, and has a million different resource groups to be involved in,
if you choose. The hours are dependent on the group you work in.Dress
code is also one of those touchy subjects, which depends on the group
you work in. I have seen people come into the office on casual days
outfitted in pajamas (technology/operations team), and others come in
with very polished. Opportunities for advancement are fab. Even if
your manager wants you to stay in their group forever, it is very easy
to explore avenues and different functions thanks to the HR group. On a
scale of 1 to 10, with 10 being best, I rate FBF as a 8.5 place to work.
(duh. why else would I stay this long if it weren't?)
