The culture at Farmers is politically driven. If you are good at the ole
boy networking game you will do fine in this organization. Management is
not equiped to handle daily management and operation decisions. Also
there is no diversity in the workforce at all. There is little hope for
advancement unless you are connected in some way. Demands and
expectations are not ethically possible. In an attempt to compete their
claims departments are suffering exceedingly high turnover which
continues to be a problem. Quality adjusters do not stay in this
department longer than 18 months.
The hours adjusters work exceed a typical 40 hour work week. It is closer
to 50-60hrs a week depending on claims volume.
The dress code is business casual. It is not PC to over dress when in the
office.
Opportunites for advacement vary and depend are influenced by political
hierarchy.
