Working for Expeditors has yet been the best experience in my working
carrier. I currently work in the Norfolk, VA Expeditors. What I like
about my job is the environment of working with pleasant people.
I enjoy working with different ethnic backgrounds. We have different
ethnic background working in our Norfolk office. I think that this makes
the working environment much interesting. It allows an individual to
see and respect people as they are and how they are. We have people
from places such as Honduras, Chzech Republic, Japan. We've had
internships from all over the world.
I also like the challenge that my duties bring forth.
I enjoy the the 8-5 daily working hours.
In this business, it is not necessary that we dress professionally or
business attire; however, this is what set our company from our
competitors, and it is mandatory to dress profesionally in every
office. We are required to dress business attires at all times; even
when are traveling for business.
I agree with our company's policy because it makes a big difference when
I am dressed professionally, and when I come to work in the morning, in
this very highly stressful field of work, it gives me some sort of self
esteem and pride in what you I am doing and what the company believes
in. Just these simple reasons is what makes me like my job even more.
Women must wear hosiery at all times, regardless if they are wearing
closed shoes. Men must always wear ties. With the standard of our
dress codes, and we have client visiting our office, it really makes me
feel good that our client see our professionalism. And, we have recieved
many comments about professionalism. Of course, you can't have good
dress codes without a good, positive attitude. These are just the few
of Expeditor's culture, and I enjoy and respect every one of them, as it
helps me in my career.
I enjoy the times when my company sends me for training. I see it as an
opportunity to grow. The more responsibilities I welcome, the better
chance that I can get promoted. This is how I see my job when I am
given an extra task to tackle. I don't look at it as an extra work or
burden. The opportunity for an advancement in my office or in my field
of work is good. You just have to be very knowledgeable about what you
are doing. You can't just learn the operations. You have to learn why
you are doing what you are doing. It gives me power to know my job very
well. My knowledge in my position is my weapon when I am confronted
with an answerm that I once thought only my manager could or would have
been able to answer, but now, I am confident to speak of what I do and
to answer question relating to my job.
I love my company. I enjoy and support my company every step of the
way. I have never worked for a company as organized and so well-
respected in the industry. I have plans to stay here for a long time.
