We have merged the former Chicago utility with the Philadelphia, PA
utility. As a result, there have been a series of downsizing moves and
we expect another. There has also been a couple of salary reviews and
blending of position titles and responsibilities. The Chicago side of
the company is also a union shop where the PA side is not, although
there was a recent vote on this. (Sorry, too early for results.)
Because of the early outs, there has, similar to a number of other
utilities, been a significant brain drain of folks who knew why some
stuff was done the way it was. If this was other than technical stuff,
it would not have the impact it does.
