Very top-down driven. Management by decree in a financially very shaky
company. The latest CEO is systematically replacing all management by
layoffs and hiring people who will be loyal to him. I had six managers
in 3 years. New CEO came in and decreed that no one in the company
would get more than an average rating on their review despite many
people having sacrificed their personal lives to help the company
before he ever got there. He's created an atmosphere where nothing
anyone does is ever enough and, consistently, finds ways to insult
people while implying that somehow he's doing this for your own good.
Morale is no where to be found. Neither is any sense of loyalty. A
number of capable, compentent people have left without other positions
to go to.
While there is not a tremendous level of diversity, I believe it to be
an open environment and have not sensed any racial tension, though have
heard a few women talk about gender discrimination.
"Core" hours are 9-3, where you have to be there. Unfortunately, many
salaried people including myself before my recent downsizing were there
MINIMUM 10 hours a day and often 12, in on weekends, travelling on
their own time (evenings and weekends).
Dress code was casual and no one seemed to take over-advantage of it.
If there is ANY advantage to working there, it is that they are running
SO lean that no one has time to look over your shoulder, though many of
the new managers are known for exploding over something that they don't
like AFTER they find out about it rather than saying ahead of time how
they want things.
Advancement lately has been nil except to give people more to do at
their existing title and salary
