Job Title Salary Survey
Management Trainee As a Management Trainee I get $9.98/hr. Anything over 40hrs in a week gets 1.5 times wage (just under $15/hr). If you make it through one year of employment you receive a $750 bonus. If you send up a sales lead to the car sales department and they sell the car, you get a $100 bonus (0-2 cars is realistic for the first year of employment). If you send a corporate account lead that signs up and rents above the minimum requirement thru the first 3 months, you get $100 bonus (0-2 qualifying leads is realistic for the first year of employment). Throughout the year there are other assorted contests which may get you $50-$100 depending on how your branch does or how you sell damage waiver during the contest period. These rewards add maybe $100-$500 to your pay for the year. The health benefits are o.k. and they do offer a 401(k) plan (no matching) if you somehow have money left over from your paycheck. Vacation time in the first year of employment accrues by the month. For each month you work you get one paid (9.5 hours) day off, up to a maximum of 7 days in your first year. Unless you call in sick, you usually have to get days off approved by your area manager in advance, which means that you better be first in line for holidays, Fridays, or Mondays off. These are the busiest days and Enterprise is usually short- staffed so you are unlikely to get those days off without advance notice and good luck. After 4-5 years of employment you vest for profit-sharing and other stuff, but the odds of anyone lasting that long are so slim that they don't really talk much about it and no one really asks about it. Enterprise does offer opportunities for advancement starting at the 6-9 month range of employment. The testing process for promotion is not terribly difficult, however sales numbers are the main factor deciding when and to where you will get promoted. Once promoted to Assistant Manager your salary will be about $26,500 + commissions based off your branch's operating profits each month. Big branches with a lot of cars offer greater commissions than smaller branches. As an Assistant Manager at a decent-sized branch you'll probably make low $30,000's. Once promoted, you will begin working even longer hours and usually will not get a lunch break.
