After submitting an online application, I was contacted by phone within
one week by an HR person at Enterprise. We did a semi-formal phone
interview for aprox. 30 minutes. The interview was based on very
general questions about school, my goals, and my previous work
experience.
At the end of the phone interview we setup a formal in-person interview
at a local Enterprise branch a week later. For this interview they had
me arrive 2-3 hours before the interview to observe how a branch
operated. Then I sat down with an Area Manager for about 1 hour. The
interview was relaxed and focused on my skills/goals in the areas of
communication, customer service, and sales ability.
The final interview was setup at the same branch with the Area
Manager's boss a few days later. This interview was a little more
formal and focused on the differences of selling a service versus
selling a commodity (Enterprise is a service and Burger King sells a
commodity like a hamburger). This manager was very big on the service
vs. commodity difference. The interview lasted about 1 hour. I was
contacted by the HR person by phone a few days after the final
interview and offered the job. They mailed out the official acceptance
package and I started working a couple of weeks later.
