Enterprise has a strong outlook in terms of corporate growth and
profitability. They offer a better mix of customer service and pricing
than any of their competitors and Enterprise still has a lot of room to
grow in terms of airport locations. Working at Enterprise means you
don't have to worry about layoffs or getting fired (unless you steal or
rent yourself a car at $1/day).
On the downside, Enterprise has the lowest employee morale of any
company I've ever worked for or even heard of. 80% of the people I
know throughout the company are looking for different jobs (this
includes MT's, Assistant Managers, Branch Managers and above).
In addition, working at Enterprise means selling damage waiver products
to people very aggressively. Depending on your branch manager, this
can devolve into selling products very unethically. I have seen or
been pressured to mislead customers, lie to customers, or simply trick
customers. This type of sales atmosphere means that you will have to
deal with many, many angry customers when it comes time for them to see
their bill. You will have to fight with customers over refunding money
and whether or not they took the damage waiver coverage.
Also, because Enterprise always wants you to make the reservation for
the customer, you will often run short of cars. This again means angry
customers and being forced to mislead or trick customers into taking a
smaller car compared to the car they had a reservation for, or putting
customers in cars with assorted "Check Engine" lights or other problems
(tell them that it's the gas oxidation sensor/it just had an oil
change).
Overall, I would not have accepted this position if I had known what I
know now.
