The work environment in the FOC consists of one fire drill after
another. The pace is hectic- I work through lunch most days, stay late
in the evenings, and work weekends at least twice per month (so do my co-
workers). We can't keep up.
Entergy is diverse at this level. There is a good mix of minority
employees. Women tend to promote quickly at Entergy.
The dress is business casual, and we wear jeans on Fridays (and on the
weekend).
The opportunities for advancement are great if you can make it through
the first few years. The Finance Operations Center at Corporate HQ has
the highest turnover rate I've ever seen. Our department had a 100%
turnover rate last year. At that rate, there is a lot of knowledge loss
and departments often "reinvent the wheel".
The salary is competitive, but sometimes I wonder- especially given that
many of us regularly put in 55+ hour work weeks.
