Job Title Salary Survey
Media Producer When hired by ElementK, you are hired on as a contractor throuigh an employment/temporary firm. I was told, as almost all new hires are told, that this is only temporary and after 3 months you will be hired on or your contract will be terminated. My 'temporary' contract lasted over 2 years. As a contractor, I received $38,000 per year, partially paid health benefits and 4 days paid holidays only if I worked the day before and after. There was no sick leave or vacation. When I was hired on as a regular employee my salary was cut to $35,500 in exchange for receiving 10 days vacation, 10 days sick leave, 3 days personal leave and partially paid health benefits. Making people take a cut in pay when converted to regular employee status is a standard procedure with this company. They also make it difficult for people to change positions in the company because they require you to convert back to contract status when change and when they convert you to regular status again, your benefits are accrued as if you are a new hire.
