New IR's start with a base of $2,000/mo. during the study process and though the
first 12 months of selling. After that it's straight commission sales. Jones
payout is 40% of the gross. Jones pays for your office, computer equipment,
utilities and one assistant. They also pay 1/2 of postage and 1/2 of phone
bill.
You are responsible for the rest. It's very much like running your own
business
without having all the overhead to worry about. You can make as much money as
you like. It all depends on how hard you want to work. First year should be
right around $35-40K, Second $40-50K, Third $60+ By year 5 you should be in the
six digit range. If you're not, you may be in the wrong profession. After that
your business will continue to grow primarily from referals. This job is
tough
and I would not encourage anyone to take it unless they are single with not a
lot
of expenses to cover or married with your spouse working. If you have a family
the second income is almost a must for the first couple of years. I've seen too
many good people fail because they came into this thing without enough resources
to get them through the first 3 years. It's a great opportunity, but it's not
for everybody.
