Jones interview process is very selective. We only want the best of
the best. The main thing that is being looked at is your ability to
fail and get back up on your feet. We are looking for people that have
been in sales or built some form of business from the ground up in the
past. We have some people that make it right out of college, but it's
better to have some "real world" experience behind you. After you are
hired Jones will train you and help you study (In your home) for the
Series 7 and Series 63 exams as well as your Life Insurance exams.
Plan on 8-10 hours per day for 8 weeks. After that you will fly to St.
Louis for a week of training at the home office. You will then come
back to your territory and begin meeting people in your area. You will
be required to meet at least 25 new people each day for 4 weeks. After
this you will fly back to St. Louis and become licensed in the
securities industry. After another week of training you will go back
to your area and begin selling to the people you met during your
initial training period. You will also be meeting new people at the
same time. 25 contacts per day will be your minimum. Once you
generate enough commission and open enough accounts you will qualify to
open your office. Expect the entire process from hire to opening your
office to take 9-12 months. It's a tough road, but it is worth it if
you stick with it.
