Interviewing was done by panelling - and the panel consisted of two or
more Health Canada Nurses, and one or two band members who were the
local liasons between the nurses and the band. The panel provided a
fairly detailed history of the band, and past and present problems - one
of which was that the clinic was often closed due to nursing shortages.
The interview usually concluded with a decision to hire the nurse, and
Drake Medox was notified. From then onward, much effort went into trying
to get the Drake nurse to cross the line and join Health Canada.
