The message boards on the NYSE are full of merger talk and doom and
gloom. They recently hired a VP of enrollment (read as a Reichminister
of Body Count). They are laying off in the 100's, leaving positions
unfilled and retiring high pay senior employees. The people I talk to
will not use the company e-mail for fear of retribution if they tell
the truth. The bottomline is that the number of competitors (most of
them more slimy than DeVry) has jumped up while demand for this kind of
training is declining. Of course the officially blamed and punished
are the uninvolved (faculty).
