Working at DaVita is an adventure. The corporate culture is dynamic,
person-centered and rapidly progressive. The CEO and COO are
approachable, credible and proactive. The emphasis on celebrating
success and striving to be "the best dialysis company the world has ever
seen" sets DaVita apart from any healthcare setting I have attended as a
professional. I have been employed by a major midwestern university, a
large private medical practice and a few hospitals - large and small
along my career path. No other worksite has so captured my imagination
and motivated me to become more accomplished in my field. The
corporate "Core Values" are congruent with my personal philosophy and
world view. The values are service excellence, integrity, team,
continuous improvement, accountability, fulfillment and fun. Imagine
having fun while working hard. The care of dialysis patients has
suffered in many ways in the past and I respect the tremendous
commitment demonstrated by DaVita in the direction of refining and
enhancing the care of this patient group. My work is enormously
satisfying and I am richly rewarded every day. The company has developed
their own line of uniforms with the logo woven into the fabric. They are
neat, bright and cheerful. They also drive home the idea of team and
identify as part of the group. They are attractive and, likr most other
decisions that directly affect individuals in this company, were
selected by a majority vote of a group of attendees at a national
meeting. Name tags, with a design that compliments the 'scrubs' or
uniforms, were also selected by majority vote. Although seemingly small
decisions, the vote cemented the corporate image of asking for and
responding to teammate feedback.
