I am in charge a 25,000 watt FM Classic Country station. The biggest
situation I deal with is budget...or lack of. It is up to me to find
ways to over come the lack of budget to promote my radio station. This
is an on going challenge. Athough "doing things with little or no
budget" is SOP for most situation in today corperate radio invironment.
My station is one of 7 in the cluster...we have a comman sales staff,
local management & support staff. Sometimes they seemed stretched - but
it is mostly a "time management issue" in my oppinion. I work as long
as I need...always 8 hour...more if necessary...but I can float them
around. makes it convenient. dress code (for on air) not a
issue...slacks or jeans - it matters not. There is plenty of
opportunity if you want to make your own opportunity. Don't wait for it
to come to you. This is a performance business. "what have you done for
me lately."
