Coors is a fantastic employer with an outstanding corporate culture that
translates to all positions. It is a family run business and therefore
cares for its people above anything while striving to increase
performance. Coors has excellent benefits including an onsite wellness
center, which includes a gym, aerobics, basketball courts, physical
therapy, etc. Coors also strive to be diverse with many diversity
related programs and clubs such as Women at Coors (WAC), Lesbian & Gay
employee relations (LAGER), Coors Hispanic Network and many others.
Coors is very involved in the community supporting many charities as
well as getting its employees involved by sponsoring teams for things
like race for the cure and having other Coors organized benefits. There
is a Coors employee whose full time job is to track the corporate
contributions and make sure that we are in compliance with our promises
(2% of pretax earnings) as well as our agreements with different
coalitions. Coors also offers several programs thought the year if
employees are interested to get involved; there are often seminars on
work/life balance, handling stress, and group competitions using
pedometers. The hours at Coors depend on the job and the timing as with
any large company, there is some overtime involved, however as a whole
the hours are not excessive. The dress code is business casual with
casual (jeans) on Fridays. I wouldn't say that the dress code is very
strictly enforced and seems to depend on the manager and the
department. The opportunities for advancement are tremendous at Coors.
Once you prove yourself there, they will give opportunities you probably
aren't qualified for, however will help you get the training and tools
you need to succeed. I believe managers are the key to a successful
experience, and not to say there are not bad ones at Coors, but as a
whole, given the company's vision and values (which are tied into every
employee's performance plan) and family run mentality it is a great
place to work.
