Contracts Specialist Like all upstream projects in the oil & gas sector, the work is demanding and rewarding. COP has as a core value valuing people and this is enacted and monitored at all management levels. COP has a strong corporate culture towards ethics, safety ans protecting the environment. None of these values are compromized in any way. Violations are taken very seriously by management, with sanctions taken against individuals who violate these codes. The work is varied and multi national giving an opportunity for cultural diversity by working in different countries. Work hours tend to be longer in a project environment, probably averaging 10 hours/ day, whereas in the corporate environment the working day is about 8 hours. Dress code is smart casual in the project environment except that we do dress appropriately when holding negotiatios/ meetings with our partners, government agencies or overseas contractors, respecting the culture of our visitors. Opportunities for advancement are good for those who work hard, show intiative, take responsibility and deliver on their commitments. Wigh such a diverse company, operating is so many countries being mobile is also an asset to career advancement.
