Not a good place to be right now. There is a lot of pressure for
corporate to increase profits, but not much place to get it. Karmanos
cut all salaries by 10% and many people stayed because the economy was
so bad. Economy is getting better but mindset is you don't have to pay
for good help. Result is attrition of good, retention of bad. A lot of
emphasis on QA products, but the products are not being maintained after
being acquired in purchase of other companies. New product Optimal J is
decent, but try to find a trained employee. Compuware is doing minimal
training so they just don't exist.
