CSC is company made up of many acquisitions of smaller companies. I
worked for a company who CSC acquired. Before the acquisitions, pay
raises where generous, culture was one of a family, work hours where
good, dress code is casual and opportunities for advancement where
moving at a rapid rate. Company was pushing for 100 Best Employers.
However, once the acquisition was settled, things changed. Pay raises
are a mere 2% vs double digits, dress code is still casual,
opportunities for advancement declined, the management structure got
thicker, too many chiefs and not enough indians. The culture changes
from being a family to only a number. Who cares if your number comes
up, they will replace you with offshore personal at one third of the
rate. Who care about quality, as long the profits margin is high enough
for the gold diggers. Hours have increased, people leaving and no
hiring is taking place, leaves more work for the few still behind.
Moral has declined.
