The business outlook is difficult. Dish is very aggressive in promotion
and pricing. This is compounded by the annual price increases.
Customers always resent these price increases.
Additionally, the competition is heating up on the internet side of the
business. SBC and Verizon are vying to steal market share from
Comcast. SBC and Verizon are partnering with DISH to offer the more
services.
Nevertheless, Comcast insists on maintaining it's prices. If anything
prices will be increased, not decreased. Comcast tries to differentiate
in cable by delivering stable service and new services like HDTV, DVR,
and On-Demand.
Overall morale is good. Most managers do a good job of letting
employees know that their efforts are appreciated. The company
sponsored events mentioned above also help out a great deal.
