There were two rounds of interviews. The first was basically the usual
Human Resource questions to screen for fit and compatibility with
corporate culture. The second was a technical interview to discover the
technical background and transferability of skills to the position.

3. Why do you want to be a Cognos Education Specialist?
4. What do you know of Business Intelligence, and Data Warehousing?
5. You have 10 minutes to prepare for a 20 minute presentation on a
topic of your choice. Go!
6. Technical interview questions included basic Structured Query
Language (SQL) questions, as well as general programming questions in
Visual Basic, web technologies and networking.
7. Why do you want to work here?
8. Why should we hire YOU? What can you do for us that someone else
cannot?
9. Why did you leave your last job?
10. Have you ever been fired or forced to resign?
11. What have you learned from your mistakes?
12. Have you ever had difficulty with a supervisor? With a coworker?
13. How did you resolve the conflict?
14. Describe some times when you were not very satisfied or pleased
with your performance. What did you do about it?
15. Give me an example of a problem you faced on the job, and tell me
how you solved it.
16. What do you consider to be your greatest strengths and weaknesses?
17. What are your long-range career objectives, and what steps have you
taken toward obtaining them?
18. Give me an example of an important goal you had to set and tell me
about your progress in reaching that goal.
