This business is a call center. We have clients that hire us to do
their phone sales, customer service and technical support. The office
is city block sized, with a few hundred cubicles, break room, etc...
There are three shifts that overlap during the day. You work the hours
you select when you are hired. These are called your availability
hours. You have adherence schedules you must follow for breaks and
lunch. There is a department that monitors your call times, adherence,
and schedules. they will work with you if you are having some sort of
problem. The company hires people from the age of 18 up. The dress is
casual/semi-casual. You are mnitored on calls and receive points or
demerits depending upon your call performance. Advancement depends upon
your performance, adherence, and job performed. The atmosphere is
casual, people generally are friendly when you ask them for assistance.
the center is unusually quiet in the early mornings and late evenings.
The afternoons are when the center is busy and is very noisy. we take
phone calls from all over the US and Canada. The diversity of people
you are in contact with during the day is what really keeps the job very
interesting.
