Working at Citizens Bank as a teller was a very stressful job. They
were severly understaffed and that made working there very difficult.
The CEO's and top managers do not care about the little people who make
the company successful. They simply rake in the money and incentives
while the people who are out working with the customers every day take
on the real work. Hours are typical banking hours and I think they have
gotten better since I have worked there. The computer system that I had
to work with was somewhat difficult and if a teller was off a
significant amount of money there were nights that we were still at work
at 7 pm trying to figure things out. Dress code is typical for the
banking industry and depending on what branch you work at jeans on Sat.
are a maybe. They were at the branch I was working at. Management was
terrible while I was working there. And they also have a very bad habit
of trying to get you to take on an enormous amount of work and
responsiblitiy while only paying you to be a teller. Opperturnies for
advancement were limited and difficult to achieve while working there.
They tend to hire outside the company because I think they get away with
paying less that way. The health insurance was Blue Cross and Blue
Shield and they had a nice option called employee plus 1 so that you and
your spouse could be covered without paying for a family plan. Vacation
was only two weeks and I think you had to be there 5 years before
earning any more.
