The hiring process included two rounds of interviews. The first round
was a telephone interview with the Clinical Nutrition Manager. The
second interview was conducted at the hospital. During this second
interview, I was interviewed by 1) the Clincal Nutrition Manager 2) the
Cardiologist and Nephrologist I would be working with and 3) five of
the clinical dietitians during a lunch interview.
The Clinical Nutrition Manager asked questions regarding my educational
and employment history, as well as questions relating to how I would
work with a team. Specific questions I recall from the interview
include "During your first day, week, month, and year on the job, what
would you hope to achieve?" and "How would you contribute to the
various teams that you would be a part of here?"
The Cardiologist and Nephrologist were primarily interested in my
Master's degree program and thesis research background. They told me
during the interview that they were interested in an "academic
dietitian" who would be able to develop the program.
The lunch interview with the dietitians was informal. I was asked
general questions about my personal, educational, and professional
background.
