Job Title Workplace Survey
Branch Manager As and experienced broker in the industry prior to moving to Charles Schwab & Co., Inc. I had a good view of the industry. I move up the ladder through various positions with varied skill sets. Branch Representative working mostly with operations which was not my strong suit at first, after coming from a full service firm. I have been a rep in the branch, a supervisor, and a new project team member along with the manager of two branches. This company has gone through some very tough changes over the last 5 or so years. I feel that the company can maintain its identity as an ethical firm. What people don??t understand who leave with a bad taste is that it is a company who needs to pay attention to the bottom line. This is no longer a socialistic company. It needs to grow up and make choices and take directions that the rank and file may not agree with at all times. The products and services available with this company are many. It is a company that needs to stream line compensation and product sales. Sticking to the basics and passing the more complex issues to a specialist is the way that they will succeed. For now there is to many buckets to tend to in order to see the long view for both the company, clients and its reps. I put it this way??. It is like driving a car with several people in it, loud music and horse play. If you don??t block it all out and focus, you won??t get were your going and you will eventually have an accident. From both the macro company aspect but from the client and broker level as well. I recommend this company to anyone who wants to help this company work towards shining again. It will take time and effort, but in the mean time they have a pseudo sales incentive, good benefits, and the possibility for growth after the dust settles. You have a very good group of people to work with who care about the company. You may be influenced by the negative comments within the Vault site, however I would tell you that having that type of perspective has to be taken with a grain of salt and tolerance for their situations.
