Good news: The company is relatively young and through acquisitions,
there are people from a number of different corporate backgrounds to
work with. There are also many opportunities to "make a difference" in
the bottom line. The CEO is always looking to improve the company and
takes a long-term focus, as well as the short term. Much of the regional
leadership is very good and working to aggressively grow the business.
Still, many opportunities exist to move between internal positions and
there is much flexibility - even to work remotely from home. Dress code
varies from location to location, and yet tends to fall into 'business
casual.'
Bad news: The last year has been filled with a lot of restructuring and
plant closures, due to the downturn in business for many of our
customers. At the moment, things are very tight and we are seeing cuts
in headcount, no yearly performance bonus and likely will have smaller
raises. This is industry-wide in contract manufacturing, so it does not
reflect how the company is run. IT infrastructure is a bit scattered and
basic support can be difficult to obtain, although this is improving.
