At a distance one would think that working for a Fortune 500 company would
bring so many benefits and job security, well whoever thinks that is dead wrong.
This company does not treat their employees with respect, we are treated more
like robots. The only scheduled break we have is our lunch which must be taken
at a certain time, if not we are subject to disciplinary actions. When we have
to
use the restroom, one is not allowed to take more than five minutes, if so the
interrogrations begin, god forbid someone had mexican food the night before.
Also there is no respect. The individuals in managerial positions are "supposed"
to assist with any queries that one may have, however when approached they
make one feel dumb, stupid, and act as if it is such a burden to answer a
question, they are condescending and patronizing. There is no opportunity for
advancement. Sure, one might be moved to a different department but as far as
monetary compensation, it will be six months before you see an increase of a
measly twenty-five cents and this is for a position you now have 4 times as much
work for as before. The dress code is ridiculous, we have no contact with the
public whatsoever and we are expected to come in professional attire. For crying
out loud we sit in a cubicle amongst 500 other employees, the ventilation does
not work properly and we're in miami. It costs more to dryclean or purchase new
clothes than what's its worth. And it's all about who you know, favorites,
"teachers
pets", what have you. Some people are lucky enough to get away with murder. If
you have a connection within the Human Resources department of your area,
you will not have a problem with attendance/tardies or other issues that us
"regular" folk would be fired/written up for, it can easily be "taken care of".
