The corporate culture is highly entrepreneurial--Cargill Dow is a start-
up joint venture between Cargill Inc. and The Dow Chemical Company.
Depending on the specific job, employees get a lot of responsibility
right out of school. It's a fairly diverse company, given its Midwest
location, especially in the biocatalyst group. Hours are generally 8-6
for engineers & scientists. Pay is very good, compensating for some of
the risk associated with a start-up venture. Dress code is informal (you
never see anyone in a tie). There are limited opportunities for
advancement at this time, while we emerge from the growth phase.
Cargill Dow is a leader in the industrial-biotechnology industry and
offers excellent experience working on a wide range of projects.
