Current Base: $140,000 per year
Long-term comp: 50% of base was given to me in restricted stock. The
vesting period is 25% after year 1, 25% after year 2, and 50% after year
3.
Long-term comp is determined each year by the Board of Directors and has
changed over time. What used to be very stock option focused has
migrated to a restricted stock program.
Vacation time: All associates get 3 weeks paid vacation in their first
full year. All associates in their fifth year (in their fifth year, not
after their five year anniversary) get a fourth week of vacation. If
you come in as a Director or higher, you automatically get 4 weeks and a
fifth week upon hitting five years. You can carry over 5 days of
vacation, but only 5 days. So, if you don't take your vacation and
already have the 5 days of rollover too, you lose whatever vacation you
didn't take.
Materinity Leave: The first 6 weeks are paid at 60% and is
considered "short term disability." Then, you must take ALL of your
vacation for the year (so 3 weeks if you haven't used any yet) paid at
100% of your salary. After that, you can take unpaid leave to reach
your 12 weeks.
Signing Bonus back in 1998: $30,000 per year and it really the only
part of the initial offer that is negotiable.
