Working at Callisburg ISD is has been an adventure to say the least.
Educating children from a wide and diverse population is very
interesting due in part to the different cultures and backgrounds that
they come from. I find that the different learning styles of an
individual is both frusterating and exhilarating at the same time. It
becomes a game or rather a personal challenge to find "the code" that
cracks how to teach a certain child that does not respond to normal
methods. My employer would be labeled as a conservative environment
with a fixed dress code. Not so much a corporate structure, but rather
a model of prefered citizenship. Diversity is limited, in my opion,
becaude of the rural location of the facility. The work hours are
great! The job requires attendance from 8:30 to 4:00 for 9 months out
of the year and observes essentially every federal holiday. Any less
and it would be a part time job. Oportunities for advancement are
limited however. Advanced placement depends on education achieved;
however further education is not pressed by leadership as this
typically equates to salery increases, which are not well recieved in a
tax money driven system.
