This is a dymanic organization with very few static processes. This is
due to the project orientation of the organization. We work on
individual and ongoing projects for a variety of customers, and all
costs that we incur must be allocated to specific projects. That means
that we are accountable for any money we spend. Change is a constant
here, due to changing project demands and cycling of profitability. We
are technically based, with the majority of our employees either
directly or indirectly involved with sophisticated facility and/or
equipment engineering. We hire all disciplines of engineering including
electrical, mechanical, civil/structural, and chemical as well as
architects, construction and project managers. We are a diverse culture
and continue our efforts to increase our diversity. We are an informal
organization and it is reflected in our dress code. The number of hours
worked is closely tied to projects and deadlines, though we rarely work
long hours for extended periods. Due to the changing nature of our work,
opportunities for advancement exist in all areas, both vertical growth
into management areas, and lateral growth into new areas of technical
expertise. The morale of IDC is excellent due to the ever-changing
roles and challenges of our projects, which tends to keep our staff in a
constant learning role.
