Job Title Interview Survey
Federal Tax Law Editor There were two rounds of interviews. The first round is actually just a test for this position (20 or so questions on overview of tax law), with a follow-up essay portion. If you pass the multiple choice test, you move on to the essay. If you do well on the writing portion of the exam then you will get called for an interview. I interviewed with two assistant managing editors and the managing editor for my prospective department. They want to know: (1) why you're looking at a publishing position (all tax law editors are lawyers, most have LLMs (Tax) and many are CPAs as well); (2) whether you would be a good fit personality wise.
