I was lucky enough to have worked with our current Director of Audit at
a previous employer and used him as reference to get my foot in the
door. I interviewed with 8 people in one day. I have never talked so
much in my entire life. I met with 3 VPs, 4 Directors, and 1 Senior
Manager. They all wanted to make sure that I would be able to handle
the responsibilities of the job and, from my perspective, fit into the
culture. The latter seemed to be more important to most with whom I
met. Best question? "What can you tell me about yourself that I
wouldn't know from reading your resume?" It was a great question and as
I go continue the recruiting efforts here, I always ask that question to
candidates with whom I'm interviewing. The question drives home the
point that at BC, we want you to do exceptional work, but we also want
you to know who you are, and what motivates and differentiates you from
the rest of your co-workers.
