Senior Grants Research Specialist Working for Broward County Government has been both challenging and rewarding. I have been able to grow professionally while acquiring new skill sets. The County offer a wide array of training and promotional opportunities to its 7000+ employees. The County is a very diverse workplace and values very highly open communication at all levels. Employees are rewarded for "Sunsational" service to internal/external customers by employees. Depending on the department/division of the County, employees typically work from 8:30 AM - 5:00 PM. Some employees work shifts (7 AM - 3 PM, for example). A professional dress code is preferred Monday through Thursday with relaxed dress on Friday for most employees. Again, the dress code depends on the type of job the employee is hired to perform. The benefits are very good ranging from participation in the State's retirement system to good health benefits and tuition reimbursement. Through the County, employees are able to participate in numerous community events that require volunteers and giving. Broward County Government is a leader in advocating the cause of the poor and community involvement.
