Associate 5 case studies: Round 1: 1./ Foreign brewery wants to improvre sales of drink portfolio. - break down portfolio, lagging in premium end where most profits exist. Need to reassess marketing - mimick competitors who are taking market share. 2./ Regional bank - online banking strategy, where to go? Focus on wrong place at moment, need to shift focus to profitable sector (generally older and wealthier customers). Final Round: 1./ Help a yellow pages type company to increase revenue (they stressed did not necessarily want to increase profits). - potential to increase rates due to lack of comp. 2./ auto co., 2nd tier us manufacturer, what to do with their financing business. - 4 categories of borrower, lowest tier borrower makes loss for financing arm, howver once profit from car sale factored in are still profitable overall...keep the financing unit 3./batterie manufacturer, wants to make investment in electric vehicle batteries, should they make investment? No, check size of potential electric car mtk - barriers such as need manufactuere to actually make cars, need infrastructure to operate them gas stations to recharge), also turns out battery cars struggle to perform in hot/cold climates where extra energy needed to cool/heat cars. Also: -m ake a point of reading and bringing up a point from the interviewer bio cards and bring it up in the initial informal chat, seems not many candidates do this and interviewers seemed to like the personal questions.
