Job Title Salary Survey
Associate Salary appears to be below average for insurance defense firms, although insurance coverage specialists are reputed to be paid more than their colleagues in casualty. Bonuses and raises are generally capped at $5,000. Benefits are standard law firm fare, but no matching on 401k. Vacation time is unregulated - only requirement is that cases are taken care of and billables are in line. Occasional tickets to sporting events (sometimes for client entertainment purposes) are the only real "perk," provided one works for the right partner(s). Firm-sponsored social events outside of the employee-only Holiday party are few and far between.
