The corporate culture is survival of the fitest. Employees are best
served to keep their noses clean, do their jobs, and if problems exist -
pass the blame around. There are no promotion opportunities, no chances
to expand your experience, or grow professionally. There are multiple
divisions within the company, and there is not job rotation or employee
development. The hours are long because the reporting requirements are
not supported by the IT department and the systems are antiquated at
best. Plans are not developed and execution is seat of the pants.
Loyalty and hard work are expected, but not rewarded. The management
and executive staff are not team oriented and only look out for their
own best interests - money. There is no teamwork and morale is bleak
at best. Departments do not work together and corporate is oblivious to
the culture and morale of the company. Budgets are set with little or
now relevance to reality. Bonuses are only given to the most senior of
executives as they deflect blame for anything. Anyone else is seen and
treated as inferior. Certain executives and managers would rather use
their employees as scapegoats than foster their development and growth.
They hire employees with little or no consideration to the wants of the
current employee's desire to expand their careers. Employees are
treated like cogs in the machine - easily replaceable if they wear out
or leave. Employees are not recognized or rewarded for excellent work
and most people are always on edge because they are constantly looking
over their own sholders. Employee concerns and issues are not given any
credance and politics rule the roost. As long as current management is
in place, this will not improve.
If you are considering a position in the finance area - run and don't
look back. It will be a devastating hit to your career and a waste of
your time if you are looking for opportunity or a life away from work.
